According to our Deeds - Unending Grace Week 13

In this 13 teaching of our Unending Grace series, we continue to look at what the scripture says about deeds, or our works. We closely examine Romans 2 to understand how God judges our deeds, and how his judgement by the Spirit is always to bring us to a place of life and freedom.

Recap Points

  1. The judgement of man is according to the law and the flesh.  The judgement of God is according to truth and the Spirit. Therefore, the judgement of God stands against the judgement of man in the flesh. (Romans 2:2)

  2. When you judge according to the flesh, you despise the goodness of God. (Romans 2:4)

  3. Rendering according to our deeds relates to if our works are of the flesh, or if our works are of the Spirit. (Romans 2:6)

  4. Grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. (John 1:17)

  5. God’s wrath will come on every soul of man who is self-seeking and does not follow the truth, to bring His judgement of truth. (Romans 2:8)

  6. The path from the realm of the flesh to the realm of the Spirit is only through the cross. (Luke 9:23 - 24)
