The Law Was Spiritual - Unending Grace Week 6
In this 6th teaching of Unending Grace, we continue with our focus on understanding the law and we look at how the scriptures identifies the law as Spiritual. If the law was spiritual, we come to see how it must also be processed by our Spirit, and not through our carnal mind. We look closely at the distinction Paul makes between the law of the inner man, and the law of the carnal man, and how one leads to death through sin, while the other one leads to life through grace.
Recap Points
The law of God is spiritual. Its purpose is to bring life, and not death. (Romans 7:14)
A carnal understanding of the law leads us to work & labor. A spiritual understanding of the law leads us to rest.
Jesus didn’t come to present grace in order to compensate for us not keeping the law. Jesus brought our Spirit to life so that we may see & receive the grace of God.
The law does not bring death. Processing the law with a carnal mind causes me to sin, and it’s sin that works through the law to bring death. (Romans 7:11) (Romans 7:22-25)
Processing the law through the Spirit (from our identity), causes grace to be revealed, which in turn leads to life.
Jesus fulfills every law, and every prophecy. (Luke 24:44)
