Fulfilling the Law - Unending Grace Week 5

In this 5th teaching of Unending Grace, we dive into what the scripture says about fulfilling the law, and we understand the difference between fulfilling the law, and keeping the law. Jesus makes it clear that he didn’t come to do away with the law, and at the same time, we know that we are not bound to keeping the law. In this teaching, we reconcile these points, and we understand the law in a way that allows us to experience the full measure of grace in our lives.

Recap Points

  1. Every word can have a meaning according to the physical, and every word can have a spiritual meaning, according to scripture.

  2. The understanding of the law as a set of rules that govern what we do and what we don’t do is not scriptural. (Matthew 5)  (Mark 7:14)

  3. The spiritual intent of the law was to correct the heart, and not control the behavior. (Matthew 5: 21 )

  4. Processing the law from a carnal mind that deals with behavior leads is a progressive slippery slope which brings us under the curse of the law. (Mark 7:9 & 13)

  5. Jesus fulfills & satisfies the law through the love of the Father. (Matthew 5:17)

  6. Every spiritual understanding of scripture is to bring you to the place of Love.  Grace flows only when we accept the love of the Father, which is manifest in Christ Jesus. (Matthew 22:34-40)

  7. The love of the Father has to flow both vertically, and horizontally.
