According to our Own Labor - Unending Grace Week 15
In this 15 teaching of our Unending Grace series, we study 1st Corinthians chapter 3 and look at how beautifully the scripture lays out the principle of our own labor. Verse 8 tells us that “each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor.” We unpack what the Spirit of God is revealing and how the center and the foundation of our salvation is the grace that can only be found in the person of Jesus Christ.
Recap Points
The foundation of the gospel is grace through Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 3:10 & 11)
If the foundation is grace through Jesus Christ, then every building block that is laid on top of that foundation must be based on grace through Jesus Christ.
The fire of God does not destroy you. The fire of God destroys works that do not endure, and at the same time brings you into salvation. (1 Corinthians 3:13 - 15)
The building that our labor is constructing, is us. We are the temple of God that the Spirit of God dwells in. (1 Corinthians 3:16)
The works that must be consumed by fire is the wisdom of man.
The reward for building the temple of God with works that are not from the wisdom of man, but the wisdom of God, is the full indwelling of the Spirit of God.
