From the oldness of the letter, to the newness of the Spirit - The New Man Week 2
We are jumping right into the new series on The New Man! If we are going to understand The New Man, we have to begin to understand the journey that leads us to become that. This week we examine the profound distinction that the scripture makes between what it calls, the oldness of the letter, and the newness of the Spirit. It’s imperative that we understand the condition that requires redemption, so we can understand the power and effect of redemption!
Recap Points
The scripture refers to two (2) ways of living: The oldness of the letter and the newness of the Spirit. (Romans 7:6)
While we live by the letter of the law, we are a slave to sin. (Romans 3:20) (Romans 7: 9-11)
Our journey into new life is:
from Being created;
to being sold into slavery by sin;
to being redeemed by Jesus
to living in the Spirit of Life.
